Tencel jersey fabric – Poppy seed capsule HistoPopArt style
Knitted tencel-lycra blend fabric in our beautiful poppy capsule pattern with intricate large and filigree structures available in a vivid Histo-Pop-Art style in collaboration with HistoPopArt Anne Kerber. The striped cells that make this pattern so intricate are xylem vessels in a poppy seed capsule. The stripes originate from special cell wall thickenings that form around vessel cells giving them support and rigidity to transport water.
The fabric has a nice drape and medium to heavy fall. It is elastic and suits knitted shirts, dresses, leggings and stretchy accessories such as loops or head bands. We recommend it for example for the Betulatop by PatternbyMalena. Tencel is produced from trees in a closed-loop that recycles the involved chemicals, which makes it a novel more sustainable alternative to viscose. The fabric is OEKO-Tex 100 certified.
Prices for fabrics are per 10 cm and fabrics are sold by an increment of 10cm. Please indicate the length you wish to order as a multiple of 10cm (e.g. Quantity 5 for 50cm, 10 for 1m…). Fabrics of the same design will be shipped in one piece. For wholesale prices, please contact us.
