Notebook – Pine wood yearrings
Spiral-bound A5 sized notebook with 80 off-white, blank pages (130 g/m2) in a golden shade that features a yearring in the wood of a pine tree.
The original microscopy image was taken over the boundary of two year rings in pine wood. The sharp boundary is created when tracheid (wood cell) production and expansion slows down and cease during the fall and takes off again in the next spring. The larger cells that make up the four-leaved shape in the pattern originate from a resin duct in the wood. A beautiful scientific reminder of passing time. Why not use it as your calendar?
